Dallas–Fort Worth has two major centers, Houston spreads across long corridors, Austin plans often depend on which side of the river or highway you start from, and San Antonio combines a compact core with a broad suburban ring.

- Name the city side, suburb, or corridor rather than saying only “Texas.”
- Check traffic, parking, and the return drive at the proposed hour.

- Keep the first meeting short enough that a long drive is not the entire plan.
